Global Frolic goes European

Bonjour lovely Global Frolic readers!

We’ve been on a whirlwind tour of southwest France with some fine new friends from all over the globe. Red wine, baguettes and cheeses of all shapes and sizes have been the daily fare.

While it is always great to vacation right after a heavy-duty season of the tourism trade, going on a cheese and wine bender has been taking its toll. It’s time I took a time out and clued you up on where we’ve been and where we’re going.

For the past two weeks I’ve jumped between Hossegor and Messange, two small seaside surf towns on the Southwest coast of France.  Surfing, eating and drinking are the top priorities.

We’ve lived next to some of the top professional surfers in the world, including John John Florence and Taj Burrow. I’ve casually eaten lunch next to Carissa Moore and bumped into Stephanie Gilmore for a not-so-flattering photograph together. The World Title is up for grabs here in France and as the pros head down to Portugal, so will we.

Over the next month we will travel from France down to Southern Portugal by camper van. We will be eating, sleeping and living out of a VW Transporter and taking in the sights and surf. Internet access will be a bit scarce during the journey, so keep your eyes peeled for more mini updates and photographs shared on our Facebook Page.
